Pentatonic Substitutions are a great way break up the predictability of the pentatonic sound. Expanding on the previous lesson, we’re going to take our new pentatonic patterns any apply them to different key centers. Playing a Minor Pentatonic scale a fifth above the root and a Whole step above the root allows us to accent the 9th and 6th, giving us a Dorian sound.
